Loose singly terminated lustrous crystal of apparently dark green elbaite with a transparent multiple termination. However when backlit the lower two thirds are transparent and of a dark blue color (indicolite variety) with a yellowish band as can be seen in the pictures. Undamaged.

One of the sides probably was a cleavage plane originally and was later etched as can be seen in the bottom left picture. Complete all around and undamaged. This specimen has been pictured at Tom Moore´s "What´s New" section in the Mineralogical Record website (7/18/2005) and comes with a Mineralogical Record label.
