This gallery is devoted to minerals from some of the many localities, of wordlwide fame or just recently discovered, that are plentiful in this country. Includes classic vanadinites and azurites as well as titanites, prehnites, garnets and many more.

Bou Agra, Imilchil (Morocco)

A lustrous olive-green trapezohedral 0.8-cm. crystal of andradite on a matrix of mainly calcite/andradite. The main crystal is undamaged.

WMISC-07/26 - Magnetite and andradite

Bou Agra, Imilchil (Morocco)

Several lustrous octahedral black crystals of magnetite to 1.2 cm. across on a matrix of black dodecahedral crystals of andradite and a second generation of gemmy olive-green andradite to about 3 mm. across. At bottom there is some creamy microcline. The largest magnetite crystal at the edge of the specimen is not complete, otherwise undamaged.

WMISC-07/21 - Titanite and albite

Imilchil (Morocco)

Cluster of highly lustrous untwinned crystals of green titanite to 0.7 cm. across at the edge of a plate of white albite crystals to about 1 cm. across. Some black magnetite associated. One crystal of albite is not completed and a few tiny nicks on the titanite as only damage.

A limonite/azurite matrix with two vugs (2x1 and 2x1.5 cm. across) coated by small lustrous transparent (when backlit) royal-blue crystals of azurite to about 4 mm. long. Some of them are not terminated although most are.

A limonite/azurite matrix with two vugs (2x1 and 1.5x1 cm. across) coated by small lustrous transparent (when backlit) royal-blue crystals of azurite to about 4 mm. long. Some of them are not terminated although most are.

WMISC-S/N-16 - Azurite and malachite

Touissit (Morocco)

A limonite/azurite/malachite matrix with a 3.5x2.5-cm. vug coated by greean malachite replacing previous azurite crystals to about 1 cm. long. There are as well some small lustrous transparent (when backlit) royal-blue crystals of azurite to about 5 mm. long here and there. Some damage to the azurite but not really important.

WMISC-05/43 - Prehnite and quartz

Imilchil (Morocco)

An almost floater piece of matrix wholy coated by lustrous apple-green curved cystals and aggregates of prehnite to about 1 cm. with numerous colorless terminated quartz crystals associated. The prehnite crystals are in some way reminiscent of the classic alpine prehnite from La Combe de la Selle, France. Very minor damage in a couple of points, quite difficult to appreciate, otherwise undamaged.

WMISC-00/4 - Vanadinite and barite

Mibladen (Morocco)

Zoned hexagonal brownish red crystals of vanadinite to 8 mm. on a baryte-covered sandstone matrix. Crystals are striated and highly lustrous at the prism faces and duller at the basal faces. Undamaged.
