The China Gallery presents various specimens from some of the many new localities that have made this country the dream of most collectors in the last few years, including stibnites, garnets, wulfenites and others.

WCHIN-07/35 - Stibiconite

Xikuangshan Mine, Lengshuijiang (Hunan, China)

The world's largest antimony deposit is known by collectors mainly for its wonderful stibnite groups. In the late nineties stibnite clusters replaced by stibiconite were seen for some time but have almost desappeared since then. The group presented here is a divergent cluster of terminated crystals of yellow stibiconite after stibnite to about 20 cm. long partly coated by black oxides. Although most crystals present terminations, a few minor crystals are broken and show a core of unaltered stibnite. Little damage specially taking into account the size and fragility of previous stibnite.

25.3x4.7x4 - 190 €

WCHIN-07/30 - Wulfenite

Kuruktag Mtns. (Xinjiang, China)

A thin matrix with some thin-paper crystals of translucent zoned orange wulfenite to about 1.5x1.3 cm. across from the recent find at this remote locality in China. Many crystals are lacking and the remaining are quite damaged due to the extreme fragility of these crystals but still a good reference specimen from this locality.

5x4.2x1.6 - 10 €

WCHIN-07/31 - Wulfenite

Kuruktag Mtns. (Xinjiang, China)

Loose thin-paper crystal of translucent zoned orange wulfenite from the recent find at this remote locality in China. Some damage at the edges but still a good reference specimen.

WMISC-06/25 - Prehnite and quartz

Hongxi, Meigu Co. (Sichuan, China)

Nice floater cluster of white to colorless quartz crytals acting as a matrix for a 2-cm. across ball of apple-green prehnite. There are small black highly lustrous crystals of babingtonite to 2 mm. on the prehnite as well as small clusters of tiny green epidote crystals. The green area observed inside the large quartz is also epidote. Very minor contacted areas in a few quartz crystals, otherwise undamaged. A really nice miniature specimen from this Chinese locality better known for its epidote on quartz.

3.7x3.3x2.1 - 85 €

WMISC-05/19 - Stibnite

Wuning Mine, Wuning (Jiangxi, China)

Slightly divergent group of lustrous metallic striated crystals of stibnite. The two main crystals are 10x1.3x0.6 and 12x1.2x0.9 cm. and are nicely terminated. A few small white platy crystals of barite are attached at bottom. Some crystals at the bottom cluster are contacted or present small cleavages, otherwise undamaged and of better quality than the majority of specimens seen currently in the market.

14.5x4.2x2.5 - 220 €
