Translucent lustrous complex hexagonal crystals of purple apatite to 0.6 cm. across, zoned with a central band of darker color on a quartz-microcline-muscovite pegmatitic matrix. Apatite is highly flourescent in an orange to salmon-pink color. Very little damage in just a few minor crystals.

Sátão Area (Viseu District, Portugal)

Two loose single crystals of translucent green apatite with yellowish rims, one of them with some transparent light yellow bubbly opal variety hyalite on top. Hyalite is highly fluorescent in green color. Both apatite crystals are contacted at bottom and one is also slightly cleaved on one side as can be seen in the top pictures. Thickness is about 0.2 cm. Top and middle pictures correspond to one crystal while bottom pictures represent the other. Sold as a group.
