WMISC-09/14 - Molibdenite

Inca de Oro (Copiapó, Chile)

Flakes and metallic grey hexagonal crystals of molibdenite to about 1.2 cm. across in matrix. A nice representative of a relatively common species but difficult to find in good well defined crystals.

WALPS-07/59 - Fluorite

Bächlital, Grimsel area (Bern, Switzerland)

A matrixless lustrous translucent to transparent complex cluster of olive-green fluorite crystals (with a purple band in some inner areas). The morphology is a bit strange with similar development of cube and octahedron and an uneven growth of deodecahedron (which gives square faces in several places). The green color is partly due to fine-grained included chlorite. Some cleaving at bottom but still quite interesting for inclusions and morphology.

WMISC-10/13 - Prehnite

Sandaré, Nioro du Sahel Circle (Kayes Region, Mali)

A matrixless specimen of translucent green prehnite showing a smooth spherical aggregate with an overgrowth of orthorhombic "clamshell" crystals on opposite sides of the sphere. There are some dark green needles of epidote as inclusions. Undamaged and quite different from the typical prehnites from Mali.

WTSU-9 - Cerussite

Tsumeb (Namibia)

Floater group of lustrous twinned crystals of smoky translucent cerussite. The back is recrystalized and mixed with a little limonite. A few tiny nicks but still a great specimen.

WSPA-10/22 - Pyrite

Navajún, Logroño Province (La Rioja, Spain)

Loose matrixless crystal of golden pyrite, combination of cube and octahedron with about the same development. Presents nice growth features on some faces and a small crystal attached. A nick on one corner as only damage. Very interesting as this crystal form is really rare in Navajún.

3x2.8x2.6 - Sold

WGB-SW/3 - Chalcocite

Old Bal Lode, Levant Mine, Trewellard (Cornwall, Great Britain)

Loose cluster of twinned crystals of metallic black chalcocite showing twinning patterns on the surface as seen in the pictures. Minor damage on the edges but a nice 19th Century example from this classic district.

WALPS-06/31 - Quartz

Rhône Glacier, Gletsch (Valais, Switzerland)

Matrixless cluster of lustrous transparent smoky quartz crystals to about 5.5 cm. long with some chlorite dusting in some faces. There are cloudy areas of chlorite included in some crystals as can be seen in the pictures. The main crystal is doubly terminated. Bottom back is recrystallized. Undamaged.

WMISC-01/34 - Quartz

Val Giuv (Graubunden, Switzerland)

Very fine matrixless cluster of lustrous transparent smoky quartz crystals to 5x5x3 cm. recristallized at bottom where there is a fine dusting of chlorite. Just a really tiny nick at the termination of the main crystal. A very good specimen from this classic alpine locality.

6x4.5x3 - Sold

WUSA-03/26 - Calcite and sphalerite

Gordonsville Mine, near Carthage, Smith Co. (Tennessee, USA)

Large heavy lustrous translucent golden twinned calcite crystal with a multiple termination on one end. There are some pieces of chert attached, coated by tiny colorless quartz crystals and 2 mm. white rhombs of dolomite. Numerous lustrous crystals of brown sphalerite to 1.5 cm. across with associated brassy chalcopyrite are also attached to the calcite crystal or the chert. Bottom (helps to display) and back are cleaved, otherwise presents minor bruising in a couple of areas and very little damage at the terminations.

WUSA-10/32 - Wavellite

De Linde Mine, Dug Hill, Avant, Garland Co. (Arkansas, USA)

Botryoidal coatings with spheres to about 7 mm. across and radiating structures of dark green wavellite fill vugs and open fractures in a brecciated grey chert-like matrix. The surface of the spheres shows lustrous crystal faces.
